Who a swim spa is for
People who want to swim but do not have room for a pool. A swim spa fits where a pool never could, and it does not swallow the whole yard.
People who want to keep moving year round. You swim against a current, so you never run out of pool. In the valley you can use it in January.
People who want both. The 19 foot model has a swim end and a separate spa end, each with its own heater. One person swims while another soaks.
Choosing your length
Thirteen feet suits most yards and most swimmers. It is the easiest to place and the cheapest to run.
Seventeen feet gives a longer stroke and more seats. It is the middle of the range and the most popular length in the category.
Nineteen feet is the one to pick if you want a true swim lane and a hot tub in the same footprint. It splits into a swim end and a spa end, each with its own heater, so plan for the space and for two circuits.
What to plan for
Swim spas are heavy. Filled, they run from 11,000 to more than 17,000 pounds. The pad has to be engineered for that, and we will tell you what yours needs.
They also need real power. Most run on a 220 volt, 60 amp circuit. The 19 foot model needs two circuits, one for each end.
Access matters too. Nineteen feet of shell has to reach your backyard. Our delivery crew has been doing this for decades, and they will walk your access before you order.
Not sure a swim spa fits?
That is the question a swim spa always comes down to, and it is the easiest one to answer in person. We will measure your access and your yard, and tell you straight.
Questions
Yes. Jets push a current toward you and you swim against it, so you stay in place. It is closer to a treadmill than a lap pool, and you can adjust how hard it pushes.
You set the temperature. Most people keep a swim spa cooler than a hot tub so it is comfortable to exercise in. The 19 foot model has a separate spa end you can keep hot.
Swim spas carry a 20 year shell structure warranty, with 5 years on components and labor and 5 years on plumbing. That is longer coverage than the hot tub line.
It depends on the size, your target temperature and your rates. Every model comes insulated with a fitted cover. We will talk through realistic running costs at your visit.
Usually yes, but access is the thing to check first. Our crew will look at your gate, your walls and your overhead lines before you commit to anything.
